About the Item

A pair of really smart side chairs, featuring that special 'os de mouton' base. These are so fluid and organic in shape. They add a sculptural element to any room. They are sturdy and strong. Entryway, bedroom, occasional chairs that would suit any interior. The term “os de mouton” (French for sheep-bone) refers to the shape of the lower frame of the chairs. This example reflects the style of the Louis XIV period and the transition to more fluid forms: straight lines gave way to curves. The base has been carefully bleached to give a light feeling. We have carefully hand upholstered these in our studio, we chose a high quality neutral beige linen giving them an air of effortless luxury.
