"18th Century Louis XVI Sofa – Carved and Gilded Wood, Original Joinery" Origin: France Date: 18th Century Dimensions: Width: 170 cm Depth: 80 cm Height: 90 cm Seat Height: 42 cm Description: Exceptional 18th century Louis XVI sofa, constructed using an authentic wooden dowel joint, a hallmark of pre-industrial craftsmanship. The elegantly curved back and armrests are supported by a finely carved gilded wood frame adorned with classical motifs and fluted legs, typical of the refined neoclassical aesthetic of the Louis XVI period. The upholstery is a richly woven damask fabric, in a delicate pink with a cream floral pattern, in excellent condition. The seat is comfortably padded and the frame is remarkably stable, making it a functional and decorative piece for high-end interiors. This piece exemplifies the elegance and quality of 18th-century French furniture, combining history, artistry, and timeless style. Condition: Excellent condition considering its age.
