About the Item

Versatile modular sofa produced by Interier Praha in Czechoslovakia around 1970. The design combines a long mahogany veneered platform with minimalist black steel supports. Thanks to its loose cushions, different seating configurations are possible, while uncovered sections of the wooden platform can be used as convenient surfaces for books, drinks or decorative objects. The sofa has been comprehensively restored. The wooden surfaces were refinished and lacquered, the steel frame elements repainted, and the chrome details refreshed. The upholstery and cushions are entirely new. A refined example of Czechoslovak modernism, combining clean lines with practical functionality.
