About the Item

This carved antique fruitwood stool was created in Provence, France circa 1880. Standing on cabriole legs ending with escargot feet, the piano seating is decorated with floral motifs at the shoulders, and is embellished with a bottom stretcher. The round seating is upholstered with a tan leather over a scalloped apron. The adjustable seat extends the seat height up to 25" inches, with a screw mechanism that twists the comfortable seat up and down. The stool is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Some worn spots on the tapestry. Measures: 15.5" Diameter 19.5" Height.
