About the Item

An antique Italian near-pair of carved and painted wood stools, with upholstered seats. This pair of stools (one from the 19th century, the other from the 20th century) each have (mostly) square-shaped upholstered seats, with wood apron having a twist-carved trim design about all sides, with hanging foliate carving at the skirt center on two opposing sides, and carved rosettes framed at each corner. They are presented upon four flute-carved, spaded legs, with profiled knees, that gently taper towards their feet. The finish is old and chippy with a great aged patina throughout. Note that these are a near-pair of stools, with slight differences and sizes. The shorter stool measures 17.5"W x 15.5"D x 15"H. This Italian pair of carved-wood antique stools, with upholstered seats, will be a wonderful addition to your living room, bedroom, or study.
