About the Item

The Kin chair takes inspiration from the Japanese Kintsugi technique, which tends to embrace the value of breakages rather than seeking to conceal them. Reflecting the Japanese tradition, designers Radice and Orlandini have taken the different parts of the frame and put them together in an unprecedented visual solution that conveys a sense of seemingly unstable balance. The bearing structure is hidden from view and the deceptive contrast between the parts can be emphasized with different materials and finishes. One of the practical benefits of the irregular shape is the compact size of the armrests, which provide sufficient support without being too bulky, allowing the chair to fit comfortably under a table. A range of padded chairs with mini armrests and stools with structures. Flexible polyurethane backrest, cold, processed without CFC. The studio provides a wide range of services for businesses and if necessary it can oversee the product development procedure right up to the actual production stage. During this process, it can analyse the production costs and – if it is part of the agreement with the company – the strategies required to reach the set target price can be established. Over the years, the firm has built up the expertise needed to cooperate with printers and manufacturers using various forms of technology for materials such as wood, polyurethane, die-cast aluminium, plastics, upholstery and metal structures.

Structure in steel tubing painted with epoxy powders in metallic silver gloss. The seat in lasten: latex rubber and polypropylene belting in black. Philippe Starck, world famous creator with multifaceted inventiveness, is always focused on the essential, his vision: that creation, whatever form it takes, must improve the lives of as many people as possible. By employing his prolific work across all domains, from everyday products (furniture, a citrus-squeezer, electric bikes, an individual wind turbine), to architecture (hotels, restaurants that aspire to be stimulating places) and naval and spatial engineering (mega yachts, space habitation module), he continually pushes the boundaries and requirements of design, becoming one of the most visionary and renowned creators of the international contemporary scene. In 1984 and 1985, Philippe Starck collaborated with Baleri to create five pieces of furniture: Café Chair, Francesca Spanish, Richard III, Président M...
