Cleo Baldon Terra Wrought Iron Bar Stools, Mid-Century Modern Sculptural Chairs

About the Item

Group of four rare Campaign style / X-Bar stools (model number XBS-35) by Southern California architect/designer Cleo Baldon/Terra Furniture. Designed 1964, constructed of wrought iron and oak wood stretchers with all-original faux leather button tufted cushions. Metal Frames feature original chocolate brown lacquered finish with welded joints, signature welded rings at x-cross points and signature zig zag cross metal strapping on seat back continued to seat. Oak wood rod stretchers show wonderful patina and have the signature “jewel cut” ends found on Cleo Baldon pieces. Includes original detachable tufted cushions in a dark greenish-black tone faux leather. Foam cushions are still soft and are in good condition considering age and can be used as-is. Each cushion has a zipper back and four metal snaps to secure cushion to frame. Remnants of original material paper tags on two of four chair cushions. These unique midcentury modernist sculptural barstool height chairs can be used indoors or outdoors and would be a great seating option for a high kitchen counter, bar, game/billiards room or for a covered outside pool bar. Price is for the Set of Four BarStools.
