A Gorgeous Mid 19th-Century Victorian Period Rosewood Piano Stool Ottoman A superb, mid 19th-century Victorian period piano stool, ottoman in richly figured rosewood, dating to circa 1860. This is a rare and highly decorative piece, combining sculptural beauty with genuine practicality. The stool features finely carved, panelled sides with intricate fretwork and elegant barley twist columns. It is upholstered in charming, colourful needlepoint, adding warmth and character while remaining in excellent, clean condition. The hinged top lifts to reveal a generous storage compartment, ideal for sheet music, magazines or keepsakes. Inside, four solid open rosewood dividers provide organised storage, and the entire interior is beautifully rosewood lined, demonstrating the high quality of craftsmanship throughout. Below, a neat mahogany lined drawer offers further discrete storage. The piece stands on a quartet of bun feet with inset brass castors, making it easy to move while retaining a refined, period look. The well proportioned sculptural base ensures that the stool looks impressive from every angle. Retaining its original colour, patina and deep polish, this piano stool has the warm glow and character that only well preserved mid 19th-century furniture can offer.
