About the Item

A Chinese elmwood blanket chest from the early 20th century, with brass hardware. Created in China during the early years of the 20th century, this elm blanket chest features a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by a warm honey hued patina. The rectangular lid opens thanks to a traditional lock to reveal a red toned interior, perfect to receive linens or blankets. The chest is flanked with lateral C-scroll handles allowing the piece to be moved more easily. With its clean lines and warm patina, this early 20th century Chinese elmwood blanket will bring a subtle touch of elegance to any bedroom or living room.
