About the Item

This antique Spanish walnut chest showcases remarkable carved workmanship typical of traditional Iberian craftsmanship. Main characteristics: The facade is divided into three ornate panels. The side panels feature refined geometric carving in interlocking diamond patterns, each adorned with a central rosette, creating an elegant repetitive lattice effect. The more restrained central panel highlights the original wrought iron lock and displays a carved motif of stylized palm fronds or foliage, a decorative element characteristic of Spanish style. The solid wood top testifies to the piece's authenticity and age, with a beautiful natural patina. The base of the chest is accentuated by a band of cut-out arcades forming rounded arches, lending lightness and elegance to the overall design. Condition and patina: The walnut has developed a rich amber honey patina over time, revealing the depth and natural warmth of the wood. Wear marks and color variations attest to its history and authenticity. This type of chest was traditionally used for storing precious textiles, documents, or valuables, and represents a fine example of Spanish domestic furniture from its period. Shipping: 151 P 51 P55
