We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptionally large and grand Victorian circa 1860 hand carved Mahogany display bookcase with Astral glazed doors This bookcase is one of the most spectacular pieces of furniture I have ever seen, you can comfortably fit thousands of books in one place with this piece, it truly offers monumental amounts of storage The shelves are all removable and height adjustable, they each have the period green leather ends, the bookcase has three large drawers which are hidden, you don't really know they are there unless you know they are there. The timber is all solid mahogany with flamed mahogany panels to the door bases Condition wise we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, apart from normal patina marks from honest age and use the piece is lovely condition throughout Naturally the piece splits into two easy to transport pieces Dimensions Height:- 290cm, top section alone 210cm, bottom section 80cm Width:- 259cm base, 274cm top Depth:- 60.5cm base, 49.5cm top Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
