This Contemporary Wave Credenza showcases a flowing carved-wave pattern that moves continuously across the front and reaches onto the side profiles. The carving depth creates a quiet dimensional effect that becomes more noticeable as the metal surface catches ambient light. The controlled carving and clean silhouette make this piece suitable for contemporary interiors requiring texture without visual noise. Metal sheets are shaped by hand and applied over the carved structure using a traditional wrapping method. The sheets are secured with small flush nails, maintaining a smooth exterior. Depending on the chosen finish—brass, copper, white bronze, or antiqued white bronze—the carved waves take on different tonal qualities as the light shifts across the surface. This sideboard functions well as a dining buffet, media cabinet, console, or general storage piece. The push-to-open mechanism keeps the external surfaces uninterrupted. Inside, veneer finishes and straightforward compartment planning support everyday use in both residential and hospitality environments. Designed by Stephanie Odegard, the piece is produced by skilled artisans using hand-carving and metal-wrapping techniques carried out over several weeks. Each example is made to order and may show expected variations typical of handcrafted metal furniture. The 86-inch version measures 86 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 32 inches tall. It is fitted with eight push-to-open doors across four cupboards. Each cupboard has a height-adjustable removable shelf. The piece works as a sideboard, buffet, credenza, media console, dining storage unit, or entry cabinet. Custom sizes and drawer configurations are available on request. Please note that moisture in the air, sudden changes in temperature, and the natural movement of wood over time may cause the metal surface to develop slight wrinkles or small bubbles. We use well-seasoned reclaimed wood, high-quality marine-grade MDF where technically appropriate, and a specialized heat-resistant adhesive to delay these effects, but perfect long-term stability of metal cannot be guaranteed. Our smooth metal finishes will show some unavoidable tool marks, as every sheet is shaped and applied entirely by hand. These marks are a normal characteristic of handmade metal furniture. If a completely uniform surface is preferred, we recommend choosing one of our hammered finishes, which are more forgiving and visually stable over time. Copper will gradually darken and may develop brown, green, or blue tones (verdigris) within six to twelve months. Brass may slowly tarnish depending on exposure and can be cleaned periodically. White bronze generally remains the most stable and shows minimal change in controlled environments. The antiqued white bronze finish will react the fastest at first, but because it already carries an intentionally varied patina, these early reactions will not noticeably change the overall look. The antiqued white bronze surface is created by hand using an acidic solution over white bronze to replicate natural aging. The final effect may include dull, shiny, cloudy, or streaked areas and slight color variation. These are intentional characteristics of the finish and cannot be perfectly uniform. A protective wipe-on PU coat can be applied on request for this finish. Without a PU coat, it will continue to age naturally just like our other finishes.
