About the Item

A high quality and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. mahogany and ormolu buffet. The three drawer and five drawer buffet is raised by circular tapered legs with ormolu feet and fine ormolu top caps below a fluted ormolu frieze. Each door displays decorative recessed central panels with beaded ormolu trim and a charming and detailed tied ribbon design, at each side. The central and left doors open as a pair to reveal three adjustable shelves while the single left door opens to reveal a single shelf. At each end are display shelves each with a pierced ormolu gallery and mirrored back plate. At the apron are five drawers with beautiful mouchette mahogany façades accented with berried laurel ormolu pulls. Above is the original Vert Campan marble top following the contour of the elegant shaped buffet. All original hardware throughout.
