About the Item

A late 19th-century Japanese cabinet dating to the Meiji period, circa 1880-1910. Crafted in solid wood with traditional nail construction, the compact case has been professionally refinished on the exterior to highlight the grain while retaining its antique character. Double doors contain original textile-backed glass panels that diffuse light and partially conceal the interior. Original iron hardware and two lower drawers complete the restrained facade. Inside are two removable wooden shelves in a naturally darker tone; the interior was left untouched during refinishing and retains its original surface and patina. The narrow depth and vertical proportions make the cabinet suitable for display or storage in a compact interior. Measurements: 21.25 in. W x 10.25 in. D x 35 in. H Condition: Very good antique condition with light wear consistent with age and use. The exterior has been refinished; the interior remains original and untouched with natural aging. The original glass, textile inserts, and iron hardware are intact. Please review the photographs for details.
