About the Item

Maker: Ralph Lauren Home (confirmed by manufacturer's nameplate affixed to interior) Style: Art Deco Revival / Waterfall Moderne Materials: Bookmatched flame/swirl mahogany veneer, high-gloss lacquer finish, polished stainless Steel hardware and fittings, mirrored glass Origin: United States Period: Late 20th/21st century A sophisticated multi-purpose wardrobe cabinet by Ralph Lauren Home, its waterfall-front case rendered in richly figured flame mahogany with a deep, high-gloss lacquer finish that showcases the wood's dramatic swirling grain. The rounded, waterfall-edge corners — a hallmark of 1930s French Art Deco case pieces — are banded in polished stainless steel, lending the cabinet a crisp architectural counterpoint to the warmth of the mahogany. The twin doors open to a versatile interior: one door is fitted with a full-length mirror, while the cabinet retains chrome fittings for a hanging clothing rod, allowing the piece to function as a gentleman's wardrobe. A drop-front drawer front conceals additional storage and doubles easily as a fold-down serving surface, making the cabinet equally suited to service as a compact bar or drinks cabinet — chilled bottles and glassware within on display. Twin stainless steel door pulls flank the vertical center seam, and the case rests on a recessed plinth base with polished sabot feet. What appears to be feet in the main image are shims used to try and level the cabinet and not part of the design. This dual-function design — part wardrobe, part bar — reflects Ralph Lauren Home's Art Deco-inspired Metropolis-adjacent case goods line, prized for combining glamorous 1930s proportions with flexible modern utility.
