This original early midcentury Bauhaus cabinet manufactured by Mücke-Melder and designed by H.J. Hagemann is a perfect representation of the simplistic elegance of the Bauhaus Era. The cupboard has a stylish chromed plated tubular steel frame. The Handels are also made of chromed plated steel. Furthermore, the cupboard is made of Walnut veneered blockboard and has two compartments. One small compartment atop as well as a big compartment beneath where you can hang up your dresses or suits. Also on the right wing door, you will notice that there is an extra handle which could be used for ties or whatever you fancy. As you can see in detailed pictures above you can also lock the cupboard. This perfect example of Czech Bauhaus style was produced by Mücke-Melder which hails from a weighty midcentury conglomerate of Czech modernist manufacturers—including TON (the Czech wing of Thonet), UP Závody, and the like, whose furniture ranges revolutionized Czech 20th century interior design. Based in Fryštát, Mücke-Melder produced work heavily inspired by the contemporaneous designs of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer, and Le Corbusier, among others, which enchanted the Czech avant-garde at the time. In the same sleek and functional Bauhaus style, Mücke-Melder produced tables, desks, and case goods, as well as some licensed updates of Thonet designs, often favoring tubular steel and finishes of copper, nickel, and chrome. This Bauhaus cabinet would make an eye-catching addition to any of your interior pieces and could complement your bedroom or your entree. Measurements: 180cm, 70.8 in. (H) x 120cm, 47.2 in. (W) x 60cm 23.6 in. (D). The cabinet has no structural issues and is in perfect condition. All functions were revived and the surfaces are polished.
