About the Item

19th Century Biedermeier Mahogany Chest of Seven Drawers Highboy, Denmark Tall Biedermeier mahogany chest of drawers, also known as a highboy or chiffoniers. Stunning mahogany veneer along the seven drawers. Two brass pulls on each drawer; no locks nor keys. Built in two sections,the bottom section consists of two drawers resting on traditional (front) carved feet. Upper section has five drawers. Restored, strong/stable and drawers function. Drawer sides and bottoms are made of pine which was traditional craftsmanship while the exterior shows off the more expensive mahogany. Note old repairs along upper right crown, upper left crown/corner and second drawer from top. All signs of wear including scratches, dings, nicks, minor missing pieces are age related reflecting generations of use and do not impact function nor beauty of this handsome 5' tall chest of drawers.
