About the Item

This solid birch and fir chest of drawers with mahogany veneer, is from a region of Sweden, famous for its finely crafted furniture in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. The town was Lindome and the period was Renaissance Revival. This was a neoclassical revival of the designs and elements of the Renaissance, as seen in the furniture and architecture of Europe in the 1600's; here this motif seems almost bat like. The chest features three locking drawers with pulls for ease of opening and a matching center escutcheon for the locks and key.
