About the Item

Contemporary cedar credenza from the MUARQ collection, designed as part of an ongoing effort to preserve and reinterpret the legacy of Mexican architect Hugo González. Crafted in solid cedar, the piece highlights the natural warmth and grain of the wood, paired with clean architectural lines and a balanced, minimal composition. The design incorporates custom Nylamid pulls, introducing a subtle material contrast that reinforces both functionality and visual clarity. The credenza reflects a thoughtful approach to proportion and detail, functioning as both a storage solution and a refined architectural object. Its restrained geometry and material honesty allow it to integrate seamlessly into contemporary interiors while maintaining a strong design identity. Developed in collaboration with Joselo Maderista, this piece forms part of a broader initiative to document, reproduce, and give continuity to González’s furniture designs. This effort includes the development of a comprehensive archive, as well as exhibitions such as Mueble Arquitectónico II at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ), where the work is presented as part of a larger narrative on contemporary Mexican design.
