About the Item

A fine hand painted Chinoiserie Regency style ebonized leather top writing desk by Julia Gray Ltd, with tooled gilt border and decorative foliate painted outer border, hand painted scenery on side and leg panels, faux bamboo frieze and leg accents, three fitted frieze drawers, all supported by four outswept legs with brass caps and casters. A Julia Gray Ltd brass label appears in the center frieze drawer. Dates to the 20th century in very good overall condition, with a back leg repair, minor leather scratches, and other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 30 in H x 56.38 in W x 30.25 in D. Ref: 8
