Italian Chest of Drawers in Walnut A beautifully crafted Italian chest of drawers made of walnut, featuring curved lines and a sturdy solid wood frame, ideal for classic interiors. Code: R53 Period: late 17th century / early 18th century Origin: Central Italy Wood: Walnut Height: 92cm Width: 145cm Depth: 59 cm Description: A three-drawer chest of drawers from central Italy, dating from the late 17th century. The structure is made entirely of solid walnut. The front features three drawers, veneered in pre-figured walnut and accented by geometric inlays outlined in light-colored wood, which create a color contrast with the walnut grain. Each drawer is equipped with a bushing and two teardrop-shaped handles. The front structure is flanked by fluted twisted columns that run along the front uprights and are set into the base, which is raised on shaped, openwork feet. The surface reflects the cabinetmaking techniques of the period, with a clear distinction between the solid construction of the sides and the elaborate decoration of the front. Interventions carried out on all our furniture: - Structural restoration: restoring small missing parts, closing any cracks on the backrest, consolidating deteriorated areas, checking and repairing hardware. – Thorough woodworm treatment. – Cleaning and sanitizing the interior. - Exterior finish with natural beeswax. - Interior finishing with shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish. Customisations: Arrangements can be made upon request: - The desired degree of restoration; – customization of the interior (adding coat hooks, shelves, dividers, etc.).
