About the Item

An unusual Geo III Oak Dresser, the rack with pierced carved gallery, moulded brackets to the corners and repeating central moulded panel, above turned pilasters, hanging finials and shaped sides, terminating in unusual moulded shoes, the central part with 3 shelves and reeded fronts. The base having a repeating reeded edge top, above 3 drawers that are walnut crossbanded and sycamore line inlay with original brass swan neck handles, the end pilasters with applied wood obelisks made out of walnut middle sections and sycamore caps and moulds below, raised on square tapering legs, supporting a wavy carved apron with stylised shells and flower head design. Circa 1790. In excellent original condition, with no damage and wonderful built up patina. H: 204.5 cm (80.5") W: 192 cm (75.5") D: 44.5 cm (17.5")
