A silky oak side cabinet designed by Betty Joel and made by W V Irwin at Token Works. Dated 1931. The label bears Betty Joel’s signature alongside that of the cabinet maker. Wonderfully handmade in solid Australian silky oak. The cabinet has an inset glass top above an open compartment, with a two‑door cupboard below. In very good original condition, showing a few light marks in places. The glass inset is a later replacement. Betty Joel (1894–1985) was a British designer whose furniture from the 1920s and 1930s is now recognised for its clarity, craftsmanship and modern sensibility. Antique Georgian oak chest on stand with two drawers of handsome proportions. Circa 1750. *Free delivery for all areas in mainland England & Wales only. The chest has handmade dovetail construction, with a shaped apron below the two drawers, standing on squat cabriole legs and a pad foot. Made in two sections. The chest interior is 87cm wide x 45cm deep x 30cm high. Condition report - With the original patina and brass wear. There are some knocks and marks expected with a piece of this age. The beading on the drawers has some damage. The top has some polish loss in one place, you should be able to make this out in the photographs.
