Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning original English circa 1740 Figured Walnut, Rosewood & Boxwood writing bureau with brown leather gold leaf tooled writing surface Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price A highly decorative and important bureau dating to the middle part of the 18th century, this piece is like pure art furniture and looks absolutely sublime for a Bureau that's over 280 years old The timber cuts are wonderful, they simply glow in the right light, the stripy boarder is a mixture of Rosewood & Boxwood where as the main body is mixed burr, burl and figured walnut, the handles, locks and escutcheons are all polished and original Condition wise, we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks as you would expect, all of which adds to the charismatic look and feel, I can see various old repairs to the veneer all of which add to the wonderful look and feel of the piece Dimensions Height:- 102.5cm Width:- 100cm Depth:- 56cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
