About the Item

A most impressive Italian 17th century dark patinated walnut Deux-Corps armoire. The armoire is raised by ball feet at the front, below the moulded straight apron. Above are 2 paneled doors flanked by very attractive architectural shaped carved columns, which continue at the upper doors. In the middle are 2 drawers with large scrolled acanthus leaf shaped carvings at each side. Centered at the moulded top crown is a finely detailed carving of wings and at each corner are carved busts of winged cherubs at each corner. With all original rich patina and hardware throughout.
