ORIGIN Italy PERIOD 1970s DESIGNER Renzo BURCHIELLARO, also known as Lorenzo Burchiellaro, was an Italian designer and sculptor who was born in 1933 and died in 2017. He is famous for his mastery of working with various metals, using materials ranging from gold and silver to bronze, brass, aluminum, zinc, pewter, and copper. His artistic creations ranged from practical furniture pieces to sculptures, often blurring the lines between functionality and art. Burchiellaro's work is characterized by his ability to create organic textures and rich details, making each piece both decorative and functional. His vintage mid-century modern creations, such as wall mirrors, vases and coffee tables, are highly prized for their meticulous craftsmanship. Burchiellaro's career was prolific, especially from the 1950s to the 1970s.
