About the Item

We delight to offer for sale an early Victorian ebonized and papier-mâché tip-top games table, the top inlaid with a mother-of-pearl chessboard, this table it was made by Jennens and Bettridge between 1840-1850 . The firm of Jennens & Bettridge was reputed for perfecting techniques in the craft and manufacture of high quality papier mâché. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. All our measurements are taken at the widest point, if you need specific measurements or anything additional please contact us and we would be happy to provide them for you. Antique and vintage used items will show signs of wear which form part of their character. All our items are cleaned thoroughly, then a coat of wax is applied to revive the leather and wood and finally hand Before Buying.
