Exceptional Viennese Biedermeier Cherrywood Pedestal Table Attributed to Josef Danhauser – Vienna, c. 1820 We are proud to present an exceptionally rare and museum-quality early Viennese Biedermeier pedestal table, crafted in Vienna around 1820 and attributed to the celebrated workshop of Josef Danhauser, the most renowned cabinetmaker of the Biedermeier era. Danhauser’s workshop supplied furniture to the Viennese elite and imperial circles, and pieces associated with his atelier are considered among the finest expressions of the Biedermeier style. This remarkable table embodies the very essence of high Biedermeier design — refined proportions, architectural clarity, and extraordinary craftsmanship combined with the natural beauty of noble materials. The circular tabletop is a true work of art. At its center lies a beautifully composed decorative element made of small pieces of precious marble, forming an elegant inlay that adds both visual richness and subtle contrast.
