Italian Gilt Aluminum and Marble Dining Table

A wonderful Italian Gilt Aluminum and Marble dining table suitable in a Kitchen or small dining room. Very much reminiscent of the Italian masters like Gio Ponti or Ico Parisi. Flowing delicate legs and a simple but elegant apron. The round marble is fitted into a square base. Clever design. The piece is mid century and it's likely from anywhere from the late 1940's to early 1960's. The base is marked Italy on top of one of the legs under the marble, pictured. There is quite a bit of paint loss to the gilt finish. We've left it alone instead of having it repainted as it shows the table's age and character. The marble top is beautifully veined and has nice patina as well. There are numerous chips to the bottom of the edge and a few minor ones to the top edge. We've pictured a few of them.
