Wrinkled steel coffee table by Omaha-based designer Christopher Prinz, who achieves this unusual texture by repeatedly creasing a thin sheet of steel, resulting in a strong, rigid, and unique form. Hidden leveling feet protect surfaces and ensure balance. Made to order in 6-8 weeks for pieces in the raw finishes and 6-12 weeks for pieces in the polished finishes due to the more labor-intensive plating process that polished pieces require. Editions in the raw finishes are priced at $8500 and editions in the polished finishes are priced at $10500. CHRISTOPHER PRINZ is an Omaha-based designer seeking to expose extreme and rarely-visible possibilities of materials associated with manufacturing. His works are shaped using a repetitive, large-scale steel creasing technique, and finished with different combinations of electro-plated metals. Through this process, the material becomes terrain-like, bringing an expressiveness to these otherwise fairly mute industrial materials. Prinz received a BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2014.
