About the Item

Shirudo matt nickel plated coffee table by Mingardo. Dimensions: D90 x H28 cm. Materials: matt nickel plated stainless steel. Weight: 45 kg Also available in different finishes. The name Shirudo comes from the Japanese word for shield – a shape that was the source of inspiration for this table. The aim was to reveal the soft side of metal, while the gentle curve of the legs releases the playfulness of the material as it starts to interact with its surroundings. The exposed joints of this coffee table show the high level of craftsmanship, and the table itself will enlighten its surroundings without losing any of its own charm. Mingardo Ilario founded Mingardo Blacksmith Workshop in 1970, after over twenty years’ experience in the metal processing field. The production was initially focused on simple blacksmith works for the construction industry. Over the time, it has become more refined, enabling the company to collaborate with internationally renowned companies and architects: from the first collaborations with architect Carlo Scarpa to the more recent commissions for Museo del Novecento in Milan, Parco della Musica in Florence, and Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari. Over the years, the Workshop has achieved great results, with the production of unique metal products, all hand-wrought by a highly skilled team of specialized artisans. Nowadays, it is highly regarded in the local artisan field for its high-end refined finishing touches and details, and for its know-how.
