About the Item

An Italian low-profile carved wood trestle-leg table, with forged-iron stretcher, from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy, sometimes referred to as a "Fratino" table, features a rectangular-shaped top, which is raised upon a pair of turned, trestle-styled legs with bulb feet. The underside of the table is braced by a pair of hand-forged iron stretchers, with disc shaped accents, creating visual interest and further embellishment to this piece. The wood has has a warm patina and some staining on the top; a reflection of it's history and age. This 18th century Italian console has a lower profile of just over 2 feet in height, making it an option for a taller coffee table or perhaps a bench for beneath a window to display plants or other decorative objects.
