The project Q.bo sculture does not intend to recreate the object in a different form but to elevate it to a real sculpture while mantaining the functional part it was create for. No longer furniture but indipendent form able to fill a space and arouse emotions by itself. After a visit at Depero house, I had the inspiration for this night stand from 1950s. The structure has still the original wood, as visible on the inner side and original hardware, while in the cut sections a new plywood has been added. The finish is brown and red-copper colored resin applied with a spatula in two coats. This technique creates a visual and tactile effect and gives a protection from scratches and small bumps. Furthermore the cabinet is cleanable with a damp cloth and is water-repellent. Drawer and shuttle can be opened as originally but they are adapted to the new shape. The inside of the cabinet is natural as it shows the authentic wood...
