About the Item

An elegant and very decorative Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. patinated, Giltwood and Carrara marble console. This wonderful freestanding console is raised by a bottom stretcher with an arbalest shaped front all over front Giltwood bun feet and Giltwood blocks at the back. The stretcher is elegantly designed with bottom and top Giltwood bull nose bands. Above are the handsome scrolled supports with front and back decorative Giltwood acanthus leaves. Behind are the back vertical rectangular shaped columns have Giltwood mottled trims and bottom Giltwood plinths. The apron above has a fanciful front Giltwood reserve with a central medallion flanked by two foliate branches. The apron is also decorated similarly as the stretcher with a top and bottom Giltwood trim. Above lays its original and impressive triple mottled white Carrara marble top.
