About the Item

A rarely seen large desk from Dabish architect Ole Wanscher. This exquisite writing desk was produced by Wanscher's long-term collaborator, master cabinetmaker A.J. Iversen in Copenhagen. Wanscher and Iversen collaborated on countless pieces over a period of more than 40 years. They exhibited together at the prestigious Copenhagen Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibitions and produced furniture for the Danish Royal Family and several Danish institutes and embassies around the world. Iversen was widely regarded by his peers as the finest cabinetmaker of his generation. This model was presented at the Guild Exhibition in 1959.  This example was executed in rich mahogany with 2 lockable drawers, a veneered top and solid banding, drawer fronts and legs. The desk has been professionally restored and refinished at our London workshop. Dimensions: Height: 74cm, Depth: 92cm, Length: 185cm.
