Mid-Century Italian Gio Ponti Style Wall-Mount Teak Triangular Desk

About the Item

An architecturally spirited and space-saving piece, this Mid-Century Italian wall-mount desk is attributed to the style of renowned designer Gio Ponti and makers such as La Permanente Mobili Cantù. Originating from the 1950s or 1960s, this triangular writing table offers a unique profile and functional design tailored for modern living. The wall-mounted structure, supported by industrial L-brackets and a single black enameled metal tubular leg, creates a floating effect that embodies the lightness characteristic of the era’s best Italian design. The desk surface is finished in a durable teak laminate, complemented by two laminate-faced drawers on the right side. A distinctive ribbed, or grissinato, design his crafted on the desk edges, and the left side conceals an additional small drawer, adding a sophisticated textural element and a subtle surprise. The supporting tubular leg is finished with a self-leveling brass foot that retains a heavy, authentic patina, grounding the piece with a touch of original history.
