Hulmefa produced this dining set in the Netherlands during the 1960s, combining teak surfaces with a black enameled metal structure throughout. The rectangular table features a teak top with a hidden leaf extension, mounted on four slender black metal legs. Construction is solid and purposeful, reflecting the Dutch manufacturer's practical approach to Mid-Century furniture production. The four matching dining chairs carry the same material vocabulary — teak arm accents paired with architectural black metal frames. Seating is upholstered in original black and cream skai, with the seat and backrest panels presented in contrasting tones. The chairs measure 18.75 x 21 x 18/30.5 inches. Hulmefa was a Dutch furniture manufacturer active during the postwar decades, producing well-built modernist pieces for the mass market. Their output reflected the broader Dutch interest in functional, well-engineered furniture during the mid-twentieth century — designs that prioritized clean construction and honest materials over ornamentation.
