About the Item

ARTS & CRAFTS FUMED OAK EXTENSION DINING TABLE Gustav Stickley, model no. 632 label remnants mostly gone from underside and illegible handwritten "10131 632" on underside of extending battens no observed red stencil decal circa 1910 96 1/2" W x 48" D x 30 3/8" H [with all leaves] 48" diameter [without leaves] A very nice example of Gustav Stickley's model 632 five-legged extending dining table in fumed oak, it features four leaves that can be inserted to bring the total width of the table to 96 1/2". A simple ovular form that collapses to a perfect circle without the leaves, allowing it to be the ideal size for a breakfast table. Resting over a generous apron and tapered oversized oak legs. The table was mostly used in this collapsed format and as a result the top is much more mellowed and patinated than the darker leaves - although these could be refinished to match the table top without great difficulty. The underside has a void where the paper label used to be affixed, this now illegible and mostly worn away. The side of the extension mechanism reads "VAUGHAN MFG CO LOUISVILLE KY". Condition: In estate-found original condition. Some areas of veneer patching. Wear to the corners. Staining throughout the top of the table. All four leaves are darker than the table top and would benefit from being refinished in order to match them up with the table's rich mellowed patination. Sturdy and strong. Ready to place. ref. 506IXB26P About silla antiques & art Established in 2009, we have available in our 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery an ever-changing selection of carefully curated and catalogued furniture, decorative arts, paintings, sculpture and estate jewelry.
