About the Item

Oval dining room table, late 19th century, Louis XVI style, with a walnut marquetry top with a star pattern made in book-match. The top is surrounded by a band of burr walnut and a contrasting strip of lemon wood. The sheathed, square, tapered and fluted legs, characteristic of the Louis XVI repertoire, are topped with sculpted capitals with rosette and dentil motifs. The table rests on a wooden sliding mechanism allowing the addition of extensions on request (2 x 55 cm), bringing the maximum length to 245 cm. Height under headband: 67 cm. Visible wear on the side panel and some traces on the surface of the top, consistent with the age and use of the piece. Cleaning and surface restoration are to be expected. The table is presented without extension; the manufacture of custom extensions is possible on request. Dimensions of top without extension: H 75 cm – L 117 cm. Weight: 30 kg.
