Petite Antique English Drop Leaf Side Sofa Table Mahogany Georgian Gateleg c1800. Direct from England, a fine antique English petite drop-leaf gateleg table, crafted in rich, solid mahogany, circa 1800. This charming Georgian-period piece features beautifully turned gateleg supports joined by stretchers for stability, and twin drawers with brass pulls on each end. (Top drawers also feature sliding mahogany drink rests over the pull-out drawers). The table’s compact proportions and graceful silhouette make it both elegant and versatile – perfect as a side table, small serving/tea table, or occasional piece in a refined setting. The warm patina of the solid mahogany top highlights two drop leaves that open smoothly to form an oval surface, while the craftsmanship and pegged joinery reflect the quality of the early 19th-century English furniture. A timeless example of functional artistry that embodies the balance of form and utility characteristic of the Georgian era. Measurements: 31.75” ht. x 26.25” x 12.75” slender, with both leaves down. 26.25” x 25.5” with one leaf up and extended; 26.25” x 37.5” full size with both leaves up.
