About the Item

This petite and refined two-tier bouillotte table was crafted in France circa 1880. Built of mahogany, the elegant piece stands on three tapered and fluted legs, each decorated with bronze rings and ending in spiral-turned feet joined by a triangular stretcher. The upper section features a circular apron richly adorned with intricately chased ormolu mounts of neoclassical garlands and floral motifs, all framing a green variegated marble top enclosed within a pierced bronze gallery. The lower tier is fitted with a round marquetry shelf radiating from a central medallion, bordered by a matching bronze gallery and supported by gracefully curved legs adorned with rosette medallions. The table displays refined craftsmanship and balanced proportions typical of the late Louis XVI style. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, this feminine and versatile guéridon retains a beautiful French polished walnut patina and finely detailed gilt bronze mounts. Use this elegant accent table in a living room, study, or master suite to display a lamp, vase, or decorative objets d’art. Measures: 16" diameter x 33.75" height.
