About the Item

The beaded lunettes on this oval maple table are reminiscent of Moorish architecture; which the appraiser says was an influence of Aesthetic Movement furniture in England, which is where she believes this table was made. This Aesthetic Movement tiger maple occasional table was made in the late 19th Century. The oval top mounted on a shaped frame with incised-carved lunette ends and pendant drop detailing, shaped brackets, the straight cylindrical legs joined by a shaped and galleried shelf stretcher, on compressed ball feet. Unmarked. It is 30 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 20 inches deep. This table appears to be in generally good condition with some minor wear, but it is some of the beaded lunettes are missing. A bit of conservancy is needed. The insurance value of this table is $1,200

Antique, 19th Century Turned Pine Occasional Table

Antique, 19th Century Turned Pine Occasional Table

Located in Lomita, CA

The beautiful details make this 19th century occasional table a standout. The design is 360 degrees with stylized touches from every angle, allowing for more design options. The pine finish has developed a warm patina, and the turned legs are flush with detail. The table is either American or English, late 19th Century. The rectangular top with molded edge over a corresponding frame fitted with a single molded long drawer, is raised on ring-turned legs, joined by a shelf stretcher. One of the planks in the stretcher is loose and will be tightened. This is a surprisingly sturdy and solid piece with nice design features. The table is wonderful in a number of settings, including a kitchen area, a foyer, a library or in a hallway accented with blue and white ceramic objects...
