About the Item

Antique walnut and fruitwood pedestal table with circular top featuring a gallery surround of foliate swag and floral motif ending in tripodal splay leg base. The bronze border is festooned on the inner as well as the outer top rim which gives the stand a beautiful finished edge. The legs and the circular stretcher base are decorated with an egg and flower beaded detail. This unique and sculptural piece can serve as an end table, cigarette, drinks or telephone table, corner table, decorative accessory table, occasional table or as Columns, Planters and Jardinières in any setting, even in a Modern or contemporary home. The stand has been refinished over its 100 year existence and is in very nice condition. It has a lovely satin polish and there are some areas of veneer missing which are not apparent when viewed. The inside top has a thin wood split towards the edge of the circle near the bronze trim, some overall dents and scratches. All as shown in photos. The warm coloring and subtle tonality of the wood shows character and age.
