ATRA is a multidisciplinary design studio and furniture brand. Inspired by the future, informed by centuries of craftsmanship, and grounded in the present, the studio creates furniture built to last for generations. Its work is shaped by sensory curiosity and a commitment to form, rather than trends or marketing logic. With a deep-rooted connection to modernism and futurism, ATRA’s language reflects the skill of its makers and the precision, expressiveness, and quiet rigor of its Swedish-Mexican heritage. ATRAFORM is the production arm of ATRA, made up of five workshops located within a three-block radius in Mexico City. Each is focused on a core material practice: woodworking, stone, metal, upholstery, and finishing. The workshops are led by skilled artisans with decades of experience, many of whom have trained across generations. The studio maintains full control of the process—from early sketch to final piece. Designers and makers work closely, allowing materials and methods to inform decisions as the work takes shape. ATRAFORM combines traditional techniques with modern tools. Machines and handwork exist side by side, depending on the demands of each project. The goal is to build well—using the right process for the right outcome. This structure supports a way of working that is practical, flexible, and consistent. It allows ATRA to develop pieces with precision, adapt quickly, and stay connected to the details that define its design language.
