About the Item

Isokon Furniture Company (design team, UK) Isokon Stool Designed c.1933, produced by Luterma, Tallinn (Reval) Estonia, for Venesta, UK. Retailed by Isokon. Stained birch plywood. Good solid original unrestored condition. Some flaking of the plywood to the base. Although this design has not been directly attributed to a specific designer, it was created as part of the Isokon furniture range around the time when Walter Gropius was Controller of Design and Marcel Breuer had been invited to be the Designer of the furniture. The stool was used extensively in the Lawn Rd (Isokon) Flats, and of course in the Isobar, designed by Breuer. W 33 cm, D 33 cm, H 45 cm, Wt 1240 g
