About the Item

Charming and rare American Victorian Faux Bamboo Side Table by R. J Horner, New York. R.J. Horner was among the leading American furniture manufacturers of the Victorian era. Table features a rectangular top with a faux bamboo apron and turned legs each carved to emulate bamboo canes. The four legs terminate in graceful out-swept feet and are joined by a distinctive lower shelf stretcher, adding both visual interest and stability. The warm honey-toned finish highlights the realistic bamboo detailing and rich patina acquired through age and use. In modern interiors this table adapts well as an accent or side table beside a sofa or chair, as a bedside table, or as a display table for ceramics, books, or collectibles. It is also ideal an an entryway table topped with a lamp, mirror, or floral arrangement. The lower shelf can be utilized for additional storage space. Table can also be used in a sunroom or lanai where faux bamboo complements the natural surroundings. This side table can be paired nicely with Victorian, Hollywood Regency, Palm Beach, or Chinoiserie furnishings for a layered designer look.
