About the Item

PRESENTING AN ABSOLUTELY Exceptional 18C Dutch Regency Marquetry Sofa Table. Made in Holland/Netherlands circa 1790 – 1820. Profusely inlaid with the most GORGEOUS marquetry inlay you will ever see ! Made of fabulous flamed mahogany with the marquetry consisting of boxwood, kingwood, harewood and yew. Floral decorations and still evidence of the original coloring to the flower petals with green etc. The flowers are a combination of tulips and other flowers. The top also has the most beautiful inlaid butterflies and central inlaid medallion/medley of floral swirls. The inlay is continued on the front of the curved legs and even on the central turned support. Original hardware and locks but no keys. The drop leaves are supported by a pull out support from underneath. The leaves beautifully connect to the top with indented moldings. Made in the English ‘Regency’ Style to pay homage to English Regency Sofa Tables of the same period but with a DEFINITE Dutch influence. THIS IS, WITHOUT DOUBT, ONE OF THE FINEST OF IT’S KIND !!! Dimensions: Leaves Down: 34 inches wide, 29.25 inches tall and 24.75 inches deep Leaves Up: 54.75 inches wide, 29.25 inches tall and 24.75 inches deep.
