Fabulous 1980's Val Rossman original one-of-a-kind framed Neighbors abstract expressionism artwork, pastel painting on paper. Hand-signed by the artist on the lower right front and titled on the back. This unique artwork is a form of lyrical abstraction that is both dynamic and intuitive. It features a playful, almost "cartoony floating worlds" quality that has been compared to artists like Joan Miro. It is filled with energetic, "graffiti-esque" marks and a unique, personal visual language of nonobjective forms that are not meant to be symbolic. The composition is built in layers, with a luminous and rich blue background that provides a deep atmospheric space. Various forms and lines, in unexpected and rich hues, seem to "swim" or float to the surface, creating a dynamic sense of movement and depth. The artwork, while complex in its layered creation, achieves a "perfect harmony" where every element feels as though it has always belonged there, offering the viewer a positive and engaging experience to enjoy a journey through color, mark, and space. The artwork features vibrant colors, combining various shades of blue, purple, green, orange, pink, red, and yellow. It is presented in a simple, natural light maple wood frame with glass. The artwork within the frame is set off by a wide white mat, which provides a clean and elegant presentation that allows the artwork itself to be the focal point. This exquisite artwork is a breathtaking piece of collectible art. Val Rossman is a critically acclaimed Philadelphia-based abstract artist and a long-time art educator. She has maintained an active studio practice for over 40 years, developing a unique and personal aesthetic. Rossman holds a BFA from Tyler School of Art (1974) and a Masters in Creative Arts Therapy from Drexel University (1976). Has had more than 21 one-person shows across the mid-Atlantic, Vermont, and Florida, and her work has been featured on Bravo Cable Television. Her art is held in numerous private and corporate collections, including those of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, AT&T, Blue Cross of Greater Philadelphia, and MasterCard International.
