H: 7.9 × 7.9 x 3.5 inches. - Born in 1975 in Manosque, France, lives and works in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, France. Trained in traditional faience, Jérôme Galvin began his career as a decorator in several workshops in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie before opening his own studio in 1998. Heir to an ancestral savoir-faire, he renews faience and glazed earthenware through a free, expressive, and deeply contemporary approach. His pieces, often glazed in bold colors, move between art object and sculpture. An imaginary bestiary, popular motifs, and mythological figures unfold across spontaneous, sometimes asymmetrical volumes, where the painter’s gesture remains visible. The artist embraces an intuitive practice, rooted in material and emotion, where tradition becomes a field for experimentation. His work engages in dialogue with the history of decorative arts while asserting the vitality of contemporary ceramics.
