Decorate a wall or salon with this elegant antique framed fan, crafted in France circa 1870. Presented within a refined half-moon shadowbox and protected under glass, the composition features a beautifully hand-painted éventail mounted against a soft rose colored ground. The carved giltwood frame is richly detailed with continuous floral and foliate ornament, finished in a warm, luminous gold with a gently aged patina that enhances its depth and character. The fan is exquisitely painted in the 18th century Rococo taste, illustrating a series of romantic pastoral scenes populated by finely dressed figures in garden settings with architectural follies, terraces, and distant landscapes.
